PERSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF DEVELOPMENT OF DACTYLOSCOPY IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES

Keywords: dactyloscopy, fingerprints, forensic technique, innovations in criminalistics, technical and criminalistic support, crime prevention

Abstract

The article, based on the analysis of scientific literature, reviews some of the newest foreign developments in the field of dactyloscopy that considered to be promising in terms of use by law enforcement agencies of Ukraine. It is emphasized that nowadays in Ukraine innovations in forensic techniques are pressing issue in the field of crime prevention. However, practically, there is a low level of use of modern achievements in this area. The author informs the domestic scientific community and briefly describes some new developments of foreign researchers, such as: use of non-traditional chemicals for the detection and investigation of visible and invisible fingerprints; a new technique for detecting fingerprints on metal surfaces; innovative high-tech workstation EVISCAN; next generation identification system (NGI); a new fingerprint sensor working with optical coherence tomography technology, and others. Attention is drawn to the need for constant monitoring and studying the experience of specialists of leading foreign countries in the development and implementation of innovations in the field of dactyloscopy in crime prevention activity.
